Sleeping Bauty (Fake)

It's a story that I've made when I was in Senior High School. It was a drama for English subject. At the first I wanted to show the real "sleeping beauty", but it's hard to be showed coz in the one group there were only 3 person... so.. I made it a little bit different with the original story...

Here it is..

Once upon a time there was a Queen who had a beautiful baby daughter. She asked all the fairies in the kingdom to celebrate the birth. But unfortunately forgot to invite one of them, who was a bit of a witch as well. She came anyway, but as she passed the baby's cradle. The witch said a curse to the princess “When you are fifteen, you will injure yourself with an apple and die!” A good fairy quickly chanted a magic spell to change the curse. When she eats apple, the girl would fall into a very deep sleep instead of dying.

The years went by, the little Princess grew and became the most beautiful girl in the whole kingdom. Her mother was always very careful to keep her away from apple, but the Princess, on her fifteenth birthday, as she wandered through the castle. She saw a little house and smell something good from the house. She came into the house where there many apples.

Princess: Whooa… I haven’t seen many apples before… I don’t know, There’s a place have so many apples like this….

Suddenly, a man’s coming

Gardener   : Hey!!! What are you doing here?!

Princess    :  Owh… I’m sorry… I just smell something good here, and I want to know what is that…

Gardener   : Something good…? What’s that?

Princess    : I think I smell something is baked, but I’m not sure….

Gardener   : oh… you’re right… I’m baking a pie apple… I almost forget it…

Then the gardener brings outside a big pie apple from open…

Gardener   : Thank you for remind me about it…

Princess    : I don’t do it on purpose

Gardener   : Yeah, I know, by the way who are you?

Princess    : Ehm… I’m a princess from the fairy castle

Gardener   : Really? Why do you come here?

Princess    : I wander out from castle to take a breath of fresh air… what about you? Who are you?

Gardener   : I’m just a poor gardener. Hey, do you want some?

The gardener offers the princess a piece of pie.

Princess    : Thank you, but… my parents never allow me to eat apples

Gardener   : Why?

Princess    : I don’t know

Gardener   : Are you sure? My pie is so delicious, you ought to try this… c’mon, your parents won’t know about it…

Princess    : Okay, but just give me a bit…

Then the gardener offers the princess a piece of pie again, but it more little than before. The princess takes the pie and eats it. When the princess gulps down her pie, she drops to the floor.

Gardener   : Hey..! What happen to you..?

The gardener becomes panic. He think, he poisoned the princess. But, he doesn’t know how it can happen. He is sure Queen will catch him soon and bring him into jail. The man try anything to awake the princess with many manners, but the princess still doesn’t awake. He visited doctors and wizards, but there was nothing they could do. The princess could not be wakened from her deep sleep. Finally, after 3 days, because he anxious about the princess condition, he takes the princess to her castle and tell her parents what happened.

Like the gardener prediction. Queen sends him into jail, in under ground jail – far from the castle. After the gardener entered the jail, Queen and the good fairy (who managed to avoid the worst of the witch curse) talking bout the princess condition.

Queen       : When will my daughter waken?

Fairy          : I don’t know, Ma’am

Queen       : In a year’s time, ten years, or twenty?

Fairy          : Maybe in a hundred year’s time. Who knows?

Queen       : What would make her waken?

Fairy          : Love. If a man of pure heart were give a help to princess that would bring her back to life!

Queen       : How can a man fall in love with a sleeping girl?

Fairy          : I don’t know, Ma’am. We only can hope she wake up soon.

Queen       : But, when she wakens, who is she going to see around her? Strange faces and people she doesn’t know? I can never let that happen. It would be too painful for my daughter. 

So the fairy cast a spell and everyone that lived in the castle fell into a deep sleep.

Fairy          : Now, when the princess awake after a man falling in love with her. Everyone in the castle will awake, too

And she left the castle, now wrapped in silence. Not a sound was to be heard and nothing moved, although a bit.

Three days later, something weird happen. The princess awake up suddenly. In fact, the princess awake because she just eat an apple pie not an apple. So, she only sleeps in a week. When she walks around the castle, she is surprise and confused, why everybody lying fast asleep on the floor.

Suddenly, the door’s open. And the gardener comes in.

Princess    : Hey you are the gardener, right? What are you doing here?

Gardener   : Princess, how can you awake????

When the princess wants to answer it, she stumbles something. She must be falling down if the gardener doesn’t save her. For a few seconds, they hold in the position. In the seconds, in their heart appears a feeling. They are falling in love each other. Everything happens so fast. Just then, the spell is broken. The whole castle wake up.

A few days later, the castle that only a short time before had lain in silence, now rang with sound of singing, music, and happy laughter at the great party give in honour of the Gardener and the princess, who are getting married. The gardener will become the next King. And the princess becomes his Queen. They lived happily ever after.
